Book of Acts Bible Study
April 27 @ 7:00 pm - June 1 @ 8:00 pm
The Book of Acts is about how the Holy Spirit forms and shapes Christian community in times of uncertainty.
Join Diane Wright on Monday evenings for a Zoom Book of Acts Bible Study to engage our faith and stay connected with one another during the fifty days of Eastertide. There will be a total of six weekly discussion sessions from Monday, April 27 to Monday, June 1.
- TO PARTICIPATE, you must email Fr. Cole, Chris.Cole@StMarysArlington.org or Diane Wright, ForDianeWright@gmail.com by Friday, April 24th (first discussion session is Monday evening, April 27th).
- Participants should use the reading plan and prayer practices to prepare before each of the six discussion sessions. Participants will receive the Zoom conference call links and credentials from Diane Wright directly; Zoom links will not be posted publically online to preserve the integrity of the small group
Preparation for Session One: During the week of April 21-27 – read Acts 1-4:31 — A Violent Wind
Try the week’s Prayer Practice — Set apart a quiet time and place to pray each day. Set a timer for at least five minutes. Ask God to be with you while you pray. As you inhale, pray, “Spirit of the Living God,” and as you exhale, pray, “Fall afresh on me.” Allow yourself to sink into the prayer; if you are distracted, acknowledge the distraction and just start praying again. At the end of your time, talk to God about how that went. Give thanks for your time together, and say, “Amen.”
